Tonight I served steamed broccoli, sautéed zucchini and leftover pork tenderloin. The boys devoured it. and at the end of the meal, all was quiet and Silas said, “We are very blessed.” Precious. I’m not sure why he was inspired to say that, but it was so sincere. Before dinner, he had requested that we light a candle and even went to the trouble to dig out the candle holder he had made in preschool out of beans. Perhaps the mystery of the fire helped create such an significant moment for him. He’s right. We are so very blessed.
Josiah’s memory is amazing! I’ve been reading a book, Mini Racers, to him on and off for a few weeks. It’s a picture book with obtuse poetry that I picked up for Silas, but Josiah really liked the pictures, so it’s been in his room. Tonight we were reading the book and I paused after the first few words and he started saying the verses with me. He said nearly the whole thing with me - it was unbelievable! Thank you, Jesus, for giving him such a good mind!
And Samuel had his first taste of rice cereal last night. He seemed to enjoy it. He’s been eyeing us at the dinner table for some time, so it was so fun to introduce him to “solid” food. It won’t be long before he’ll be joining us for family meals!
I love my little family. These boys are such a blessing!
